Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 3, 2026
Oakmint is a brand operated by Chief LLC. In this policy, "Oakmint", "we" and "us" mean Chief LLC doing business as Oakmint.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Oakmint ("Oakmint", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to oakmint.co, our online forms, our lead forms on social media, and the phone calls, emails, and text messages we send in response to your request. Our Facebook page is called "The Owner's Desk"; it is operated by Oakmint, and the lead form on that page sends your information to Oakmint. Our Terms of Use also apply.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you choose to give us when you contact us, submit one of our forms, or speak with our team:
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone number, and company name.
- Business details: your role, how long the business has operated, approximate headcount, which software systems the business uses, and a general description of the records it keeps.
- Communications: the content of emails, texts, and call notes between you and us.
- Technical data: standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, used for security and to keep the site running.
Our forms describe your business records. They do not collect, copy, or transfer the records themselves. No business records move anywhere without a separate signed agreement and your approval.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your request and answer your questions.
- To evaluate whether your business fits opportunities we work on.
- To contact you about your request by phone, email, or text message (see section 3).
- To schedule and confirm calls and to keep a record of our conversations.
- To operate, secure, and improve the site.
We do not use your information for any purpose unrelated to your request, and we do not sell it.
3. Text messages (SMS)
How you opt in. There are three ways, and every one uses a box that is unchecked by default. (1) On our sign-up page at www.oakmint.co/text-updates, where you enter your name and mobile number and check the box (that page does nothing unless the box is checked), and (2) on our Data Check form at www.oakmint.co/data-check, next to the phone field (there the box is not required to submit the form). On both pages the box reads: "By checking this box, you agree to receive transactional text messages and alerts from Oakmint (Chief LLC) about your Data Check and call scheduling. No promotional messages. Message frequency may vary. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Privacy Policy: https://www.oakmint.co/privacy Terms: https://www.oakmint.co/terms" (3) On the lead form of our Facebook page The Owner's Desk (operated by Oakmint), the optional box reads "I agree to receive text messages from Oakmint" under a disclaimer with the same frequency, rates, STOP, HELP and not-a-condition-of-purchase terms and links to this policy and our Terms. We text you only if you check the box. We record that you checked it, when (UTC), and on which page or form. If you leave it unchecked we contact you by email and phone call only. To sign up later, use www.oakmint.co/text-updates. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.
What we send. Transactional text messages and alerts from Oakmint (Chief LLC) about your Data Check and call scheduling only: a confirmation that we received your Data Check, the next step, a link back to your Data Check if something needs editing, call scheduling and reminders, and replies to your questions. Nothing promotional and no marketing.
Frequency and cost. Message frequency may vary and usually means a few messages in total around your Data Check and your call. Message & data rates may apply.
Opting out and help. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You will receive one confirmation message and nothing further. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@oakmint.co.
No sharing of text messaging opt-in data. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subprocessors for supporting services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only:
- With service providers who help us operate, such as our customer relationship system, hosting, and phone and email providers, who may use it only to provide services to us.
- When you ask us to pursue an opportunity, with the parties needed to evaluate it, in summary form you have approved.
- When required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties, as described in section 3.
5. Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels on oakmint.co. Our online form saves your draft answers in your own browser's local storage so you can stop and come back; nothing is sent to us until you choose to send it. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security and reliability. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy first. You can clear local storage and cookies at any time in your browser settings.
6. Data security
We protect your information with reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. The site and our forms are served over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). Information is stored with reputable providers that maintain their own security programs, access is limited to people who need it to respond to your request, and we never store your business records themselves. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects you.
7. Data retention
We keep contact information for as long as we have an active relationship or a legitimate business reason, such as responding to your request or meeting legal obligations, and then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
8. Your rights and choices
- Unsubscribe from texts: reply STOP to any message.
- Stop calls or emails: tell us on the call, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or email hello@oakmint.co.
- Access, update, or correct the information we hold about you.
- Delete your information.
- Ask questions about how your information is handled.
To exercise any of these, email hello@oakmint.co. We respond within 30 days. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there). We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Children
Our services are for business owners and operators aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Continued use of the site or our services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
